Well the Queen of the Stained Glass Patterns! Please everyone go check her site out. Diane was adorable and her husband also… A real cutie! At the American Quilters Society Quilt Show in Knoxville, Tennessee we rounded this corner and was blinded by the magnificent light of this crown. Our first impression was to curtsy and kiss the hand of the Queen. I was then distracted. I looked up on the wall and saw some of the most magnificent stained glass quilts ever! I started to run. You know how we all hate to do those things because of the tiny binding tape thing that goes between the “glass’ part of the quilt. Well no more! She does not use it.. She developed her technique of where you use Fuse and Bond on the back of your fabric design and fuse it to a piece of black fabric and stitch around it. If any of you are planning on using any black fabric you better get it now. Susan, Eileen and myself are planning on doing some of these and you won’t be able to find a piece of black fabric from here to Canada when we get started. You have to touch it to believe it. SHE INSISTED YOU TOUCH THE EXAMPLES! You know how most threaten you if you touch it. Not Diane. She has beautiful work. We enjoyed the booth so much and her work. I went by several times trying to figure out how to snatch and grab that crown she was wearing. That is one thing she WOULD NOT ALLOW US TO TOUCH OR TRY ON! I even tried to bribe her husband!! I think he was afraid of the “power” she posses! Why she was even making him wear a Court Jester crown. http://www.detailsbydiane.com/ Go here and shop here. BE SURE TO CURTSY. I can’t wait until I finish this one quilt kit I bought last year from Nashville Quilt Show to get started on quilts with her technique! The above picture was taken from her site. I can’t take credit for it. But I wish I could draw like that.. Is it not cute!
