Hey on another group I belong to one lady said “if the Lord willing and the creek dont rise to an answer to something and I remember something I had heard a long time ago.. I always thought it made reference to a running water creek but it actually means The Creek Indians. Here is your reference. This is just info for what it is worth. I found it interesting and thought I would share. It is amazing of all the sayings we do say that originated hundreds of years ago. It is non quilt related, sewing, cooking or whatever. It was just something I remembered and wanted to share. Like “minding your P’s and Q’s” . I found that one interesting also and amusing. Watch your Pints and Quarts.. British saying.

That’s a new wrinkle for me. I always thot the same thing “creek” meaning water. Thanks for the info.

Yes Edna, we have Creek Indians in Alabama.. I am not sure where else but we do here.
