Carol Logan Newbill, the best webmaster in the world and I went to Wintzells Restaurant today at Guntersville, AL. Carol wanted to order the sampler plate of oysters. I said ok I would share. We also got a salad each. Well when they brought the huge tray of oysters out to put on the table I could not believe them. The oysters were huge and the shells looked like saucers. No way could I get a whole one in my mouth. Most we had to cut in half.

Here is what they were.

Oyster Bienville, made with shrimp, crabmeat and parmesan sauce.

Monterey, made with jalapeno, bacon and monterey cheese.

Grilled, chargrilled over open flame with peppery butter , parmesan and romano cheese.

Oysters Rockefeller , it came with spinach and a butter sauce.

These must have come from oysters on steroids! AWESOME AND HUGE!

Well I bit on something and thought “Oh gosh I broke a tooth.” I got it out and dropped it accidentally on my plate and it bounced. I thought that sure was funny until I saw it was a pearl. YEP I GOT PEARLS AT LUNCH and was not even dating the person I was with! How funny. I put it my wallet and brought it home. I must go back over and over again to find enough to make a necklace!

I made this postcard. It is on its way to Tuscaloosa, AL to our son in law Mike Greene’s house. Happy Birthday Mike! We love you and proud to have you as a son in law.

It is made out of fabric with the exception of the hat and tiny pieces of confetti.

One thing I like about fabric postcard besides they are fun to make, you give someone something they will keep. Made just for them.

When you go buy a card in the store or receive one, I know I usually look at it for a day or so and then in the garbage. I hate to do it but I just dont keep those paper cards. Very few. That is money thrown out like wrapping paper! But when someone gives me a fabric postcard I will always keep it. They are tiny works of art. So why spend 3 to 4 dollars on a card to go to the garbage when you can buy a fabric card or better yet make one for yourself. I display mine on small easels. I rotate and always have something pretty to look at.

Anyone interested in learning about these cards contact me at SadieMaesAttic@aol.com or leave a comment below. We make and trade ALL OVER THE WORLD! I have some of the most beautiful works of art. I just love them! They are also so easy to do.

My husband Gary makes great fudge. He gave me the ok to post his recipe here. Since everytime in my life I have made or tried to make fudge , you either had to beat it with a hammer or suck it with a straw, I have zero idea where he got this recipe. He just uses it and it works. Enjoy!

They key to this fudge is never quit stirring.

You will need a candy therometer

In a deep pot like a pressure cooker pot attach a candy therometer. Do not let it touch the bottom you will get false reading but put it close to the bottom.. Just dont touch.

Pour in 3 cups of sugar, 1 5 ounce can evaporated milk and 1 1/2 sticks of butter. Medium heat STIRRING CONSTANTLY. Dont stop stirring… That is the most important. Bring mixture to 234 degrees. Cut off stove eye and take off the therometer. Now you pour in 12 ounces of chips. This is your choice. We have used chocolate raspberry, chocolate mint , peanut butter mixed with dark chocolate chips and just regular chocolate chips. YOUR CHOICE it just has to total 12 ounces.

Keep stirring and when almost mixed perfect stir in a 7 ounce jar of the marshmello cream and keep stirring.

Then pour in 1 cup of nuts of your choice. For the peanut butter chips we use we chop in the food processor a cup of cocktail peanuts. We have used walnuts in the entire thing and pecans and when we did not have enough we used all 3 mixed together. Again your choice. Keep stirring and then pour in 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.

Mix this well and pour into lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 aluminum pan that you can buy and throw away. Gary gets that butter flavored spray like Pam or the Greater Value that Walmart has and lightly sprays and sometimes takes a paper towel and runs around it. You do not want a lot just enough not to stick.

Let cool and cut in slices. It is so good.

It is good if somebody is there to help you when you get ready to pour in all the chips, nuts, marshmello and nuts. It just helps them to be able to keep mixing away and not having to stop.

I guess you could make it by yourself but this is just the way he wants to do it and why fix something that is not broken! We have made and shipped all over the USA.. IT IS WONDERFUL!
