In just a few hours it will be 2010. It is just unreal that we have zipped by another year so fast. Some of you that read this blog, it could possibly be 2010 for you already!
I am NOT making any resolutions. You know why? I don’t keep them. No use lying to you and myself. I WONT KEEP THEM.
I did work on a quilt today that someone has placed an order for. Well it is coming along right nicely. When I finished sewing for the day, I started going through old quilt magazines, craft magazines and general craft magazines. I found Candlewicking, Tole Painting, Woodworking and all kinds of sewing magazines along with quilting books and magazines. I started a pile of the ones that I am going to get rid of. Clearing out. No more buying a book just for one pattern. I have some magazines from the 60’s with cigarette ads in them. So how old is that? I will never for the life of me figure out why I kept a magazine with Joan Kennedy, Ted Kennedy’s exwife on it because it had potholder patterns in there.. A lot of patterns. Now I have just turned 56 and I don’t ever recall making potholders! What was I thinking? I think it was Good Housekeeping. The potholders are all different things, pumpkins, animals, people and just about anything you can think of. I guess one day I figured I would be making potholders! Not going to happen.
I found books that I have no idea why I bought them. I have outdoor furniture books, Tole painting, Tshirt painting books by the hundreds. I did use the t-shirt books. Remember back in the 80’s when handpainted clothes were popular? I bought every book Michaels Craft Store had. We painted from “can to can’t” . I did very well with that.. But that phase has passed along and I must put it aside and concentrate on my fabric postcards and my quilting. The rest, must go! I must move on also.
This is just a start. I have not decided if I am giving away the books, donating to Goodwill or thrift store, selling them or throwing them away? ANY IDEAS?
I hope you all have a blessed year that is coming up. I thank each and everyone of you for reading my blog and leaving comments. I dont always post 100 percent about quilting and guess what ..I never will. I am not 100 percent on anything! I like all different things so here you will see a mixture.
If you get a chance, also visit the fabric postcard groups.. We have a great time and receive many beautiful cards from each other. I enjoy this better than making the quilts!
If you get a chance visit my other site www.myfamilytreeisfullofnuts. I am working on it with Buck and Wayne, two cousins I have that I never have met but they found me online and yes we are kin!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, I hope you all prosper in health, wealth and creativity!
