I have been having major problems getting my binding to work correctly on my quilts at the very end when you join the two pieces. Granny taught me long time ago the old fashioned way of where you just tuck one end in the other and I was not happy with that. It did not look professional plus it was not the easiest thing to do.
I decided to go to the source where I go for everything…You Tube.
I found a tutorial by Vanessa at Crafty Gemini. I watched it and thought this had to be about the easiest way on earth to join the ends. I was working on a miniature quilt and tried it and guess what.. Worked perfect! I binded 3 miniature quilts in about 1 hour and so pleased with the technique. Here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZR6ls_IsIo.
I contacted Vanessa and told her how much of a help that her tutorial was and may I please have permission to post it on my site and of course I would give her credit. That is the way we should always do. Ask the person and majority of the time they will give you permission. It is not nice to steal. She said yes. Well I wish you would visit her site www.craftygemini.blogspot.com She has a lot of great tutorial and is really a nice person. I look forward to more of her tutorials in the future. They are really easy and helpful.
Thank you Vanessa, good luck on your new home and new addition to your family and when you can get back to posting all these great tutorials we will be here anxiously waiting them.
